Half day hike in Khao Sok
Khao Sok National Park is every rambler’s dream! There are a host of different routes for inexperienced and experienced ramblers alike, and you don’t even need to set aside a whole day to get a good feel for the rainforest.
On this half-day tour, your guide will take you into the jungle. What you will see is impossible to know in advance. You might see monkeys swinging from tree top to tree top, or perhaps a snake hanging lazily from a tree. Maybe you’ll glimpse the beak of a rhinoceros hornbill or maybe you’ll catch sight of the rafflesia, the world’s largest flower. It is not the most pleasant of flowers. It feeds on the roots of other plants and smells a bit like decaying flesh to attract the flies that pollinate it. But it IS the world’s largest flower with a circumference of up to one metre, and it takes around 20 months from the first small bud appearing to the flower blossoming. So if you see it in bloom, you’re pretty lucky!
No matter what, you enjoy an adventurous hike in the rainforest with nature right up close!
Duration: approx. half a day.
