History walk and street art in Phuket Old Town

Join us on this exciting tour and discover the hidden treasures of Phuket Old Town, where you’ll also learn all about how Phuket has been shaped historically and culturally over the years.

The walk starts in the heart of Phuket Old Town at the Shrine of the Serene Light, colloquially known as Sang Tham Shrine. The guide will talk about the temple’s importance to the many Thai-Chinese residents.

You’ll then visit the Amulet Market, a popular meeting place for the locals. The market is the perfect place to experience the special energy that haggling generates. Maybe you’ll learn some tricks for your next market visit? Not far from here, you’ll also experience the iconic, white buildings that house Kasikorn Bank and Memory at On On Hotel, as well as the other historic buildings of the city.

The tour continues to Phang Nga Road, which is the lifeblood of Phuket Old Town’s artistic significance. Here, you’ll be introduced to “Sitao Studio”, a trendsetter in the art scene, where you’ll have the opportunity to have a go at being an artisan yourself. There’ll be an introduction to bisque-fired ceramics and a one-hour painting workshop.

As the sun rises higher and higher over Soi Romanee and Thalang Road, the tour is enriched with colours and artistic experiences. In this area of Phuket, you’ll experience the harmonious fusion of art and food, while the street art adds life and charm to the area.

Finally, the tour heads to the Buddhist temple Mongkol Nimit, known for its admirable chedi and peaceful location. The tour rounds off with a lovely lunch at a local restaurant.
