Early in the morning, you’ll be picked up from the hotel and driven to Ao Thalane, an overlooked gem in northern Krabi Province – perfect for those seeking a more authentic and unique experience.

Once at Ao Thalane, you’ll be kitted out with a kayak and a life jacket, and after a short briefing, you’re ready to head out on the emerald waters and explore the area’s unspoiled beauty.

It’s a wonderful experience to paddle away quietly to the sounds of nature while soaking in the impressions. On your way through the lush mangrove, you’ll experience abundant wildlife with lizards, snakes and several different bird species including kingfishers, herons and eagles. You’ll probably also encounter the curious macaques, which thrive in the mangroves. If you’re lucky, your kayak will be chosen as a vessel in their hunt for the perfect treetop or favourite food, crabs.

At the edge of the mangrove, the surroundings change, and you’ll now paddle through towering limestone karsts and secluded lagoons before heading for the small harbour.

After a fantastic morning in a sea kayak, you’ll be driven back to the hotel, taking with you the memories of an unforgettable experience in one of Thailand’s most stunning areas of natural beauty.
