Street food, Phuket Old Town and the sunset from Khao Rang Hill

Join this culinary tour through the food streets of Phuket, tasting the countless delicacies of southern Thailand. Gain insights on the Chinese influence on Phuket at the same time as you enjoy sunset from what is likely the island’s most popular lookout point.

You will be picked up from the hotel by a driver and a guide. The first stop is at a donation-based barber shop, where locals regularly come to prune their locks while discussing matters big and small. You can get a quick cut too, if you’d like! Next, your path continues to the colourful and pretty Thai-Chinese Kio Thian Keng Saphan Hin Shrine. You learn about the shrine’s history, its meaning to the local population, and its role during the annual Vegetarian Festival.

Has your stomach started growling? Your tour continues to its first “food stop”, where you’ll be trying “khanom chin”, fresh, thin rice noodles that are an absolute must-try when you’re in southern Thailand. The locals like enjoying this dish with a curry paste of their choosing. Top it with fresh spices and vegetables. It’s entirely up to you what you’d like to put in it, and how strong you’d like to make it.

With your bellies full, the tour continues to Phuket’s renowned lookout point at Khao Rang Hills to enjoy a magnificent view of Phuket at sunset.

Next, you visit Phuket Old Town to taste the popular shaved ice dessert “o-aew”, a local speciality in Phuket whose main ingredient is a jelly made from the seeds of the o-aew plant. Take a stroll along Thalang Road, where you can admire beautiful, colourful houses and explore many cosy shops.

Round off your evening at the bustling night market, where you can enjoy local delicacies to the tunes of live music.
