Visit to Elephant Sanctuary Phuket

A wonderful and memorable day in the company of a herd of happy elephants awaits you at the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary, which is on the World Animal Protection list of elephant-friendly places.

You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to eastern Phuket. After a scenic drive of around an hour, you arrive at Phuket Elephant Sanctuary, which is beautifully situated in an area with ponds and verdant hillsides where the elephants can roam. Their primary task here is simply to be elephants, which means, among other things, that visitors observe the elephants from a distance while they roam freely and happily in their natural environment.

On a slope overlooking the forest and a waterhole is a large platform where you’ll spend the next few hours. From here, you can enjoy the sight of the elephants bathing, eating, blowing dust and interacting with each other. So, there’s no riding on them, and you won’t get to bathe with them either, but if you’re really lucky, you may be allowed to give them a treat – they love fresh fruit! Along the way, the guide will tell you about the elephants’ very different personalities and their tough past life.

At lunchtime, a delicious Thai (vegan) buffet is served, which you can enjoy overlooking the elephants’ home before heading back to the hotel.

Duration: approx. 4 hours

We recommend that you book the excursion when booking the tour.
