The Excalibur Hotel & Casino is located at the south end of Las Vegas Blvd. and is characterised by its medieval theme. The exterior of the hotel resembles a huge castle and is named after King Arthur’s mythical sword, Excalibur.
The hotel is large, with some 3,981 spacious rooms decorated in warm tones, with carpeted floors and wooden furniture. All rooms offer a TV, a safe, a mini fridge, air conditioning and an en suite bathroom.
It’s easy to get from Excalibur to the city’s other hotels via the modern tram system, the Monorail. You can jump on the Monorail from the other side of the road behind the MGM Grand hotel, which you can easily access via a footbridge. If you want to go even further south to Luxor or Mandalay Bay, the Excalibur Hotel offers its own free train there. You can, of course, also walk around the city or take a taxi.
The hotel also offers everything from a casino to live entertainment, and your hunger can be satisfied at one of the many restaurants. If you fancy a large selection of food, then the obvious place to go is The Buffet, where the dishes just keep coming. You might also consider a good dinner and a cold beer from the TAP Sports Bar, while the current sports events entertain on the screens, and finish with a round of bowling. Breakfast can be purchased at several places, including at the hotel buffet and several small cafés.
The desert heat is managed with a visit to one of the 3 pools, where you can relax with a light refreshment from the pool bar or just swim a few laps. There are sun loungers with parasols here, and you can reserve a cabana for a fee on the hotel’s website if you wish to turn up the comfort level (first come, first served). If even more well-being and relaxation are called for, you can visit the hotel’s day spa.
