Ho Chi Minh City foodie tour on a Vespa

Experience Ho Chi Minh City after sunset riding pillion on a scooter.

In the evening, after sundown, Ho Chi Minh City wakes up in earnest, and millions of people hop on their scooters and drive off into the illuminated metropolis to have dinner and meet up with friends.

You will be picked up from the hotel by your guide, and a Vespa driver will be ready to show you Ho Chi Minh City after dark. After being given a helmet, you hop on the back of the scooter and whizz off, and in one fell swoop become part of the metropolis.

You will be driven through small back streets and alleys and past local residential areas and unknown sights away from the main tourist attractions. The first stop is a local hip eatery, where you naturally start with one of the specialties: banh mi, a Vietnamese sandwich. For the main course, you can choose between crispy stuffed rice pancakes (bánh xèo), fresh spring rolls or grilled pork chops with rice.

This is followed by a stroll through the local residential area with its old apartment buildings which house more than 2,000 local residents.

You arrive at a local, historic eatery which is known for its delicious desserts. Try one of the soups or grilled bananas wrapped in sticky rice topped with coconut milk.

Finish the tour at a local pub which is well off the tourist trail. Soak up the local vibe as you enjoy a cold beer.

You will then be driven back to your hotel.
