Guided walk in Hoi An’s Old Town

You will be picked up from the hotel by a guide and the walk around Hoi An’s Old Town begins.

From the 16th to the 18th century, Hoi An was known as an international trading port for Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese and Portuguese merchants. Today, the district is known for its charming architecture, impressive silk production and skilled tailors.

On the tour, you will visit the famous landmarks of the area and experience the charm of the historic streets. As you walk through the historic streets, you cannot help but be enchanted by the old yellow buildings of the French colonial era, which stand side by side. The relaxed, cosy atmosphere soon becomes apparent, despite the throngs of tourists.

The first stop is the Chua Ong Pagoda, built in 1653 in honour of the Chinese General Quan Cong, who, for many, is a symbol of loyalty and justice. The next stop is the Jinshang Temple, dedicated to the goddess of the sea and guardian of sailors. From here, there is a short walk to the 200-year-old house, Tan Ky, which was built by a Vietnamese family and has been lovingly preserved for seven generations. The Japanese and Chinese influence is clear throughout the house. Naturally, you also stop at Hoi An’s most famous landmark, the iconic Japanese Bridge, which dates back to the 1700s. The excursion rounds off with a scenic boat trip on the Thu Bon River.
