The Cu Chi tunnels – half-day excursion
This excursion offers a fascinating a half-day tour of the Cu Chi tunnels.
You are picked up from the hotel and driven through what was once the Viet Cong’s stronghold. On your arrival, you will watch a short video about what life was like for the soldiers who fought during the war.
During the Vietnam War, the North Vietnamese Viet Cong constructed a labyrinth of tunnels, connecting subterranean command centres, accommodations, schools and training facilities, and as a staging ground for surgical strikes against the Americans. The entrance holes to the tunnel system are very narrow, as though the tunnel system itself were made for very slim people. The tunnel system was a perfect hideout for the Viet Cong, and it made an unparalleled staging ground for the surgical strikes the Viet Cong would become both famous and infamous for.
You return to the hotel in the afternoon.
