A tour to New York City is a journey to one of the world’s most iconic metropolises – a city where there’s always something new happening.
Experience some of the world’s most famous landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and Times Square, dive into culture and history at The Met and the 9/11 Memorial, or get swept away by the atmosphere of a Broadway show.
Explore New York’s unique neighbourhoods – from the hipster vibe of Brooklyn to luxury shopping on 5th Avenue.
Whether you’re travelling for art, history, shopping, or cuisine, New York offers something for everyone.
All of our trips to New York are comprehensive tours. You could experience New York as part of a tour between several iconic cities in the eastern USA or in combination with a trip to California and the western USA. Moreover, many of our tours to the USA can be extended with a city break in New York.
Below, we have gathered some of New York’s highlights.
No trip to New York is complete without a visit to the Statue of Liberty.
The 93-metre high statue was gifted to the USA by France in 1886 as a present to celebrate the nation’s independence. Since then, the Statue of Liberty has welcomed immigrants to New York Harbour and remains one of the world’s most iconic landmarks.
You can take a ferry ride to the island, visit the museum, and enjoy breathtaking views of Manhattan from Lady Liberty’s crown.
Central Park is New York’s green oasis, providing a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city and its skyscrapers.
Spanning 3.4 km², Central Park offers beautiful paths, lakes, gardens, and sculptures.
Whether you want to take a leisurely walk, have a picnic, or simply enjoy nature, Central Park is a must-see on your trip to New York.
Known for its flashing billboards and vast crowds, Times Square is New York’s theatre and entertainment district, a hub of sound, light, and street theatre. Named after The New York Times, which relocated here in 1904, it is now a hive of gigantic billboards, lights, and life.
Take a photo on the famous red steps, shop in the abundant stores, or buy last-minute Broadway tickets at the TKTS booth. Times Square is also the heart of Broadway’s renowned theatre district, where you can experience some of the world’s best musicals and theatre productions. An evening on Broadway is one of those experiences that makes New York truly unique. Book your tickets in advance if you want to ensure your spot.
Take a walk across one of the world’s most famous bridges and enjoy the view over New York’s skyline. The Brooklyn Bridge was inaugurated in 1883 and was the longest suspension bridge in the world at that time.
More than 30,000 pedestrians, 100,000 cars, and 4,000 cyclists cross the bridge every single day!
Stroll from Brooklyn to Manhattan at sunrise for the most stunning view, or admire the bridge illuminated in the evening, with Manhattan glowing in the city’s lights.
If you dream of experiencing New York from above, we recommend a visit to the observation deck at Rockefeller Center.
The building has 70 floors, and from the top observation deck, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city and see iconic landmarks such as the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, Central Park, and the Statue of Liberty.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, also known as “The Met”, is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious art museums, with a collection spanning over 5,000 years.
Here, you can view everything from ancient Egyptian artefacts to modern art. The museum is located on the edge of Central Park, making it a perfect cultural destination when visiting the park.
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum is undoubtedly one of the most moving sites in New York. The museum is situated where the World Trade Center once stood before the attacks on September 11th, 2001. Here, you can experience two enormous reflecting pools where the Twin Towers stood, with the victims’ names are engraved. Inside the museum, you can read testimonies and stories from that tragic day.

We receive many questions about travelling to New York. The most frequently asked questions are compiled here.
New York can be visited year-round, but each season offers something unique.
Spring (March-May) brings blooming cherry trees in the city’s parks and gradually warmer temperatures, making it a lovely time to explore the city on foot.
Summer (June-August) is warm and lively with long days and outdoor events but can also be humid and hot.
Autumn (September-November) transforms the city with beautiful autumn colours, pleasant temperatures, and atmospheric events like Halloween and Thanksgiving.
Winter (December-February) offers Christmas lights, a winter atmosphere, and the possibility of snow, but can also be very cold.
In general, spring and autumn are the most pleasant times to visit New York if you want to avoid extreme temperatures and large crowds.
New York is generally a safe city for tourists, especially in central areas like Manhattan.
However, as in any major city, it is important to be aware of your surroundings, particularly when walking through the city in the evening and at night. The most popular tourist areas are usually well-monitored and have many security measures in place.
On our tours to New York, you stay for 3 nights, which is enough time to see the main attractions such as the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, and Times Square.
If you’re keen to delve deeper into the city, or have a particular interest in museums and theatre, you can easily extend your stay with additional days.
No, as a UK citizen, you don’t need to apply for a visa when travelling to New York for holiday purposes. However, you do need to apply for an ESTA approval to travel to the USA.
The ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) is a travel permit that allows you to visit the USA without a visa, provided that your stay is less than 90 days, which is the case for our tours.
The ESTA application must be completed online at least 72 hours before departure, though earlier is recommended. Read more about the requirements and how to apply for an ESTA on our practical info page.
